What it does

Soclasica is timeless makeup, skincare and beauty tools with tracked delivery to 38 countries. soclasica_set_marketing_emails changes one setting on the caller's own Soclasica account: whether Soclasica sends that person marketing email. Nothing else on the account changes.

It is a Write tool, and Write tools change only that person's own data on that website. The call takes a single boolean, subscribed, and returns the value now stored. The tool is idempotent, so sending subscribed true twice leaves the same result as sending it once, which makes a retry after a dropped response safe.

When an assistant should call it

Call it when the person asks to start or stop Soclasica marketing email and the request is about their own account. Turn off Soclasica emails, subscribe me to Soclasica offers, or stop the Soclasica newsletter all point here. Questions about an order or a product belong to the other Soclasica tools: soclasica_list_my_orders, soclasica_get_order_status, soclasica_search_products and soclasica_gift_ideas.

Do not guess the value. If someone says they get too much email without saying whether to switch all of it off, ask which they want, then call with subscribed false or true and pass exactly the boolean they asked for.

The call runs through the account connector at https://onelifevibe.com/mcp. The person signs in with OneLifeVibe using OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and grants the olv.write scope, and must have signed in to soclasica.com with OneLifeVibe once. Without that link the tool answers not_linked and nothing changes.

Inputs and an example call

One input, required: subscribed, a boolean. true turns marketing email on for the account, false turns it off. There are no other arguments, no message text and no template to choose.

A tools/call over JSON-RPC 2.0 to https://onelifevibe.com/mcp looks like this: {"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"soclasica_set_marketing_emails","arguments":{"subscribed":true}}}

The connector's sign-in is set up for Meta Muse today, with the client onelifevibe-muse.

What comes back

A successful call returns the field subscribed with the value now in effect on the Soclasica account. Treat that returned value as the confirmation to report: if the person asked to switch marketing email off and you get subscribed false back, tell them it is off.

Nothing else comes back, and no other setting on the account is touched. Because the tool is idempotent, a retry with the same boolean returns the same state rather than flipping it, so resending after a network error or a dropped response is safe.

Errors, limits and safety

not_linked means the person has not signed in to soclasica.com with OneLifeVibe yet. Ask them to do that once, then call again; retrying without the link keeps failing. An authentication or scope failure means the OAuth 2.1 with PKCE sign-in did not complete or olv.write was not granted, and the fix is a fresh sign-in, not a different argument.

You will also find the tool in the platform API registry at GET /api/platform/v1/tools, but a platform key gets 501 world_tools_unavailable for it today, because it acts on one member's own data. A platform key can call the world catalogue, the tool registry, the network directory tool and the event log. Other MCP clients reach the no-account tools through the free connector.

The call is not destructive: it changes a mailing preference, not orders, payment details or account access. Even so, confirm intent before switching marketing email on for someone who did not ask for it, and do not describe the returned value as anything more than the current setting.

Questions

How do I stop Soclasica marketing emails from an assistant?

Call soclasica_set_marketing_emails with subscribed false. The person needs a OneLifeVibe sign-in with the olv.write scope and must have signed in to soclasica.com with OneLifeVibe once, otherwise the tool answers not_linked.

Why does soclasica_set_marketing_emails return not_linked?

The person has not signed in to soclasica.com with OneLifeVibe yet, so the connector has no Soclasica account to act on. Have them sign in once at soclasica.com, then repeat the call.

Can I call soclasica_set_marketing_emails with a platform API key?

No. The tool is listed in the registry at GET /api/platform/v1/tools, but a platform key gets 501 world_tools_unavailable for it today, because it acts on one member's own data. Use the account connector at https://onelifevibe.com/mcp instead.

Build with it. Connect an assistant to https://onelifevibe.com/mcp, or get a free Sandbox key for the Platform API.
