Search the Soclasica catalog of makeup, skincare and beauty tools: name, brand, price, stock and link for each match. Works before a Soclasica account is linked.
Where you can call it
- Platform API registry: listed in GET /api/platform/v1/tools, but a platform key gets 501 world_tools_unavailable for it today, because it acts on one member's own data; a platform key can call the world catalogue, the tool registry, the network directory tool and the event log.
Inputs
| Argument | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
query | string ≤80 | |
limit optional | integer 1–50 | How many items to return (default 10). |

What it does
Soclasica is a beauty website: makeup, skincare and beauty tools, with tracked delivery to 38 countries. soclasica_search_products queries its catalog by keyword and returns each match with the fields an assistant needs to describe the product and link to it.
It is a read tool. It changes nothing: no cart, no order, no account setting. It also works before a Soclasica account is linked, so a search is available as soon as the connector is set up.
When an assistant should call it
Call it when someone asks what Soclasica sells in a category, whether a product or brand exists, what something costs, or whether an item is in stock. It is also the right call when you need a product link to hand back, for a wishlist, a gift conversation or a comparison between two items.
Do not use it for order questions. The same website lists soclasica_list_my_orders and soclasica_get_order_status for that, plus soclasica_gift_ideas and soclasica_set_marketing_emails for other tasks. Only soclasica_search_products searches the catalog, so questions about what is for sale start here.
Inputs and an example call
There are two arguments. query is required and is a string of up to 80 characters: a product name, a brand, a category or a few words describing what the person wants. limit is optional, an integer from 1 to 50, and sets how many items come back; the default is 10.
Send the call to https://onelifevibe.com/api/platform/v1/tools/soclasica_search_products with query set to serum and limit set to 5. The same two fields are what an MCP client supplies when it calls the tool through the OneLifeVibe connector.
A platform key is a different route to the same tool, and a restricted one today. It is listed in GET /api/platform/v1/tools but returns 501 world_tools_unavailable; see the limits below.
What comes back
The result carries products[], an array of matches. Each entry has slug, name, brand, price_cents, currency, in_stock and url. price_cents is an integer in the smallest unit of currency, so pair the two fields before you show a price. in_stock is the field to check before saying an item is available, and url is the page to send someone to.
Take the fields the conversation needs and leave the rest. If the list comes back short, widen the query or drop brand wording before concluding that Soclasica does not stock something.
Errors, limits and safety
The tool is read class and idempotent, so retrying after a network failure is safe and a call leaves the catalog and the account untouched. Stay inside the argument boundaries: a query longer than 80 characters and a limit outside 1 to 50 are invalid, so trim long phrases before sending and omit limit when 10 is enough.
On the REST side, a platform key currently gets 501 world_tools_unavailable for this tool because it acts on one member's own data. The same key can call the world catalogue, the tool registry, the network directory tool and the event log. If you hit that code, move the search to the connector instead of retrying the key.
Put product words in query, not personal details, and treat the returned fields as the whole answer: this tool returns catalog data, not anyone's order or account history.
Questions
Does soclasica_search_products need a linked Soclasica account?
No. It works before a Soclasica account is linked, so searching the catalog does not depend on signing in to Soclasica. Call it through the OneLifeVibe connector.
How many products does one search return?
Ten by default. Pass limit to get between 1 and 50 items in a single call, and keep query within 80 characters.
Why does the platform API return 501 world_tools_unavailable for this tool?
A platform key gets that code because the tool acts on one member's own data. That key can call the world catalogue, the tool registry, the network directory tool and the event log, so use the connector for catalog searches.
