What it does

astrodios_get_plan is a read tool on the OneLifeVibe assistant connector. It answers two things about a person's AstroDIOS account: which plan they are on, and whether that plan is currently active. The response also includes renews_at, so an assistant can say when the plan renews without sending anyone to a settings page.

AstroDIOS (astrodios.com) covers Western, Vedic and Chinese astrology, numerology, tarot and the I Ching in one daily answer. This tool sits beside the reading tools and reports account state only. It returns nothing about a chart, a reading or a horoscope.

It is a Read tool, which means it changes nothing. Call it as often as you need; the answer stays the same until the person's plan changes.

When an assistant should call it

Call astrodios_get_plan when someone asks what plan they are on, whether their plan is still active, or when it renews. It is also the right check before you point a person toward something their plan may or may not cover, because the answer comes from their own account rather than a guess.

Do not use it to fetch a reading. astrodios_get_today, astrodios_scan_days, astrodios_love_match and astrodios_sign_horoscope cover the daily and reading side, and astrodios_set_morning_email changes an email setting. This tool reports plan and status and nothing else.

If someone asks a general question about what AstroDIOS offers, answer from what they tell you and point them to astrodios.com. The tool returns a plan label, not a feature list, so do not present the label as a description of what is included.

Inputs and an example call

The tool takes no inputs. Send a tools/call request with an empty arguments object to https://onelifevibe.com/mcp:

{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"astrodios_get_plan","arguments":{}}}

Two things must be true before that call works. The connector needs the person's OneLifeVibe sign-in through OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and the scope olv.read, and the person must have signed in to astrodios.com with OneLifeVibe at least once. Without the second, the tool answers not_linked even when the sign-in on your side is correct.

What comes back

The response carries three fields: plan, active and renews_at. plan is the label of the plan on the person's AstroDIOS account. active says whether that plan is currently active. renews_at gives the renewal date for it.

Read them together. A plan label on its own does not tell you whether the person still has access; active does. If active is false, say so plainly and point the person to astrodios.com to sort it out rather than guessing why.

Do not add interpretation the tool does not support. It does not explain billing history, refunds or payment methods, and it does not list features.

Errors, limits and safety

not_linked is the error you will meet most often. It means the OneLifeVibe sign-in worked but the person has not signed in to astrodios.com with OneLifeVibe yet. Ask them to do it once, then retry; it is not a credential problem on your side.

Platform API keys cannot call this tool today. It is listed in GET /api/platform/v1/tools, but a platform key receives 501 world_tools_unavailable for it, because the tool acts on one member's own data. A platform key can still call the world catalogue, the tool registry, the network directory tool and the event log. Use the account connector at https://onelifevibe.com/mcp with olv.read for this one.

The tool is read-only and idempotent, so retrying after a network error is safe and nothing on the account changes. The connector's sign-in is set up for Meta Muse today under the client onelifevibe-muse, and other MCP clients reach the no-account tools through the free connector.

Questions

What does astrodios_get_plan return?

It returns plan, active and renews_at for the person's AstroDIOS account. The call takes no arguments, so send an empty arguments object.

Why does astrodios_get_plan answer not_linked?

The person has not signed in to astrodios.com with OneLifeVibe yet, even though the connector sign-in succeeded. Have them do it once, then call the tool again.

Can I call astrodios_get_plan with a platform API key?

No. A platform key gets 501 world_tools_unavailable for this tool, because it acts on one member's own data. Call it through the account connector at https://onelifevibe.com/mcp with the olv.read scope.

Build with it. Connect an assistant to https://onelifevibe.com/mcp, or get a free Sandbox key for the Platform API.
